WINDSOR TWISTER

I've never been in a place when a natural disaster occurs, and its probably a good thing cuz extreme weather freaks me out! For those reading this who don't live in Colorado or haven't heard about it a tornado hit northern Colorado Thursday around noon. The worst place it hit was in Windsor (where I live). The tornado itself was registered as an F3 (winds of 165+ mph), when it touched down in Windsor it was a mile long and stayed on the ground for an hour making it all the way to Laramie, WY. There was baseball-sized hail that made cars look like golf balls by the time it was done pounding dimples into them. The town of Windsor is a mess and so chaotic. Chandler and I were fortunate to not get hurt but our apartment suffered some damage. When the tornado struck I was at work in Greeley so I didn't get to see the actual twister but Chandler was at daycare in Windsor and it hit down about 1/4 of a mile away from him. That will send a few bouts of panic thru you when you find out your child was that close to something that big. We don't have any electricity at our apartment and probably won't til about Monday or Wednesday but thankfully I have awesome friends who have offered to lend me their couch for a few days. Its interesting how you look at something with different eyes when you are personally affected by it instead of just watching it on TV. But it has made me realize how blessed I am to have what I have and that it wasn't worse than it was.
THIS IS MY BEDROOM WINDOW. I'M GUESSING IT WAS THE HAIL THAT DID THIS BUT WHATEVER IT WAS WAS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO BREAK THE GLASS, SHOOT IT THRU THE BLINDS AND CLEAR ACROSS THE ROOM ALL OVER MY BED.
THIS IS MY LIVING ROOM WINDOW. THERE ARE TWO SMALLER HOLES TO THE RIGHT ABOUT THE SIZE OF A SOFTBALL AND ANOTHER LARGER ONE IN THE LOWER LEFT CORNER THAT'S A LITTLE HARD TO SEE BUT ITS ABOUT THE SIZE OF AN EXTRA LARGE PIZZA.
THIS IS A FEW HOURS AFTER THE TORNADO THE SKY WAS STILL MOVING VERTICALLY SO IT LOOKED LIKE IT WASN'T DONE YET.

I was thinking about you too! Glad it wasn't anything more serious than a few broken windows. Better yet, I am glad Chandler is ok! It was a crazy storm!!!

I was SO worried about you & Chandler - all I could think about & praying for your safety. What a blessing beyond measure that Chandler was where he was at....

What a scary experience--one you just hearing about others having it happen, but it happened to YOU! I'm so glad you and your son were safe.
